Lovecraft Country, Pose e Hamilton fazem história no Emmy

Com 24 indicações cada, The Crown e The Mandalorian prometem ser os maiores vencedores da noite do Emmy Awards 2021, a cerimônia acontece no dia 19 de Setembro.

Procurando trazer mais representatividade nas categorias, ainda que com alguns problemas, podemos ver algumas mudanças.

Pela primeira vez uma atriz trans é indicada na categoria de Melhor Atriz, depois de 3 temporadas Mj Rodriguez finalmente é indicada por seu papel de Blanca em POSE.  A série também conta indicações em todas as categorias para atores da premiação, todas com atores negros.

A série, que infelizmente foi cancelada, Lovecraft Country fez história por ser a primeira a ter dois protagonistas negros indicados por série drama.

Hamilton segue fazendo história nas premiações recebendo 7 indicações para Lin-Manuel Miranda, Leslie Odom Jr, Daveed Diggs, Anthony Ramos, Jonathan Groff, Renée Elise Goldsberry e Phillipa Soo. O show é o segundo da história com o maior número de indicações para o elenco, estando atrás somente da série When They See Us, com oito indicações.

Outros marcos na premiação:

Rosie Perez é a terceira mulher latina a ser indicada a categora de atiz coadjuvante , por seu papel em The Flight Attendant (HBO), e Lin Manuel é o sétimo homem latino a ser indicado a melhor ator.

Bowen Yang é o primeiro ator asiático a ser indicado em uma categoria de ator coajuvante em comédia por Saturday Night Live, e Phillipa Soo a ser a primeira mulher com descendência asiática a ser indicada a melhor atriz coadjuvante, por Hamilton.

Pela primeira vez a categoria de melhor ator drama teve a maioria dos indicados sendo atores negros, com Sterling K. Brown (“This Is Us”), Jonathan Majors (“Lovecraft Country”), Regé-Jean Page (“Bridgerton”) e Billy Porter (“Pose”). Se um deles ganhar vai ser a segunda vez que um ator negro ganha na categoria.

E na categora de melhor atriz drama três mulheres negras foram indicadas Uzo Aduba (“In Treatment”), Mj Rodriguez (POSE) e Jurnee Smollett (Lovecraft Country). Somente duas mulheres negras venceram essa categoria, Viola Davis e Zendaya.

Black Lady sketch Show ganhou 5 indicações.

RuPaul ganhou mais uma indicação, se tornando um dos artistas negros mais indicados no Emmy, com 16 indicações ao programa RuPaul’s Drag Race.
